I'm a single mom of two toddlers. I was raised Apostolic and have been on a pew my whole life. Until last year, I thought of singles ministry and its functions much like match.com and I wanted nothing to do with it. I didn't want to be labeled as "that desperate woman" just for showing up.
Last February, I was encouraged to attend the Texas Singles Conference. I came with a very closed mind and determined that at the first sign of any "dating game" agenda I saw, I would pack up and leave ... only I never saw it. I saw people laughing and talking and worshiping together. I heard sermons that quite literally changed my life and my thought process about what God was doing in His plan for me. I connected with people who gave me hope against hope that I could make it through this stage in my life, not by the skin of my teeth, but running in victory! I left feeling encouraged and made friends that have been lifelines to me ever since.
Since February conference, I have made it a point to attend every function I could afford to go to and I'm now heading up an Ellipsis ministry at my local church! God is so good. If I could say anything to anyone who's leery, it would be to taste and see for yourself. This ministry will give to you more than you ever thought you needed and teach you ways to reach out to our hurting world in a way that makes you feel useful and relevant in the Kingdom of God!

“At my first conference I had a breakthrough. I realized that singles ministry was just that: a legitimate ministry. God moved in my life and healed things that I didn't even realize were broken. He carried my faith and ministry to heights I didn't even know existed. He brought friends into my life that I didn't even understand I needed. In short, He supplied needs I never knew were there. If you are on the fence about coming, please jump over! You don't want to miss what God has in store for you.”

"I would like to commend the Texas District for addressing this ever-growing population of Pentecostal single adults. Having lived in the Houston area both as child and early teen and again in the early to mid 90's, I have an appreciation for the Texas District and the strength of individual churches there. Once again, thanks and keep this ministry growing.“

"I have been involved in singles ministry for about 12 years. I love meeting and connecting with people who are going through, or have gone through, similar experiences to mine and who love the Lord. I have made lots of friends from all over the world. I have watched a lot of singles find their helpmate through these events. I personally met my husband through one of his friends who I met at a singles meeting. I love seeing singles coming together to worship the Lord, our one true Love."
